The sea of clouds of Takeda Castle can be seen in the mornings of autumn and early spring. But, it is in autumn that it is easier and more beautiful to see.
The sea of clouds is made by the fog which comes from the Maruyama river situated just below. The fog rises into the air at the middle level of the mountain. The view is such that the castle seems to be surrounded by a sea of clouds, thus resembling a castle floating in the sky. The scenery is even more beautiful, when the first light of dawn reflects on the clouds.
