Asago Art Village

Asago art village provides new space for art with both an indoor museum and a vast outdoor sculpture park. The Asago museum is situated just in front of a huge rock-fill dam.
The museum permanently exhibits the works of the sculptor Toshio Yodoi, a pioneer of Japanese modern and contemporary arts, who was born in Asago.


The museums has various temporary exhibitions throughout the year. It also promotes education and organizes workshops.
Fees :
Adult 500 yen
University and High school students 300 yen
Junior high school and Primary school students 200 yen
(50 yen discount for a group of 20 persons minimum)

Opening hour:
Open to 10am to 5pm (June 1-Aug.31 at 6pm)
You are requested to enter the museum at least 30 min. before the closing time

Closed :
- On Wednesdays. Except of national holidays.
(However, in the case of the national holidays is a Wednesday, the closing day will be transferred to the following day.)
- New Year holidays (Dec.25 to Jan.5)
- Days of changing exhibitions

By car :
120 min from Kobe, Osaka or Kyoto and 60 min from Himeji
Sanyou highway (from Himeji) or Chugoku Highway (from Fukusaki).
Take Bantan Higway and exit at Asago. Follow the 312 national on the north and at the crossroads “Tataragi”, turn right.

 By train :
On the Jr Bantan Line, get off at Nii Station.
The museum is situated at 10 minutes from the station by Taxi.
