Tumulus Chasuri Yama



The biggest round tumulus of Kansai is situated in Asago City. The Chasuri Yama Tumulus was made in the 5 century. It measures 90 meters of circumference and 18 meters of high.

The tumulus is divided in two parts separated by “Haniwa”, terracotta clay representing people, horses or houses.

It is a tomb of a Yamato period’s chief (3 century to 8 century) but his identity is uncertain.
