The Ritsuun valley
is situated at 757 meters of altitude and is well-known for its many thousands
of Sakura trees.
just in front of the Takeda Castle, it is said that lords of Takeda Castle had
planted cherry trees to be able to see this scenery from the castle. Well, the
existence of cherry trees goes back even before the building of Takeda Castle. Archives teach us that already at Nara era (710~794), the Ritsuun valley was already known for its cherry trees.
