Mikobata & the Mouchet House of Photograpy

The Mouchet House Museum of Photography

After the restoration, the Mouchet house opened as a museum dedicated to the photographer Mineko Orisaku.Ten years ago, Mineko Onisaku discovered the city of Asago for the first time.
“My first impression of the city was that there is nothing here! But the air was fresher and the color of nature was more vivid,” she confides to us.
The artist was attracted by Asago from the first instant. Since then, bonds were forged and she doesn’t hesitate to come back to Asago whenever she can.“I really love to go around the city with my camera under my arm,” she tells us.“Every time I go to Asago, I can feel the vibrancy of the city, the warmth of the inhabitants and the unchanging nature.”

The Mouchet House of Photography exhibits photographs of Asago taken by Mineko Orisaku during her many visits.
